Why I Built This

A personal journey from burnout to sustainable growth

My Story

Three years ago, I was completely burnt out. I'd tried every productivity system, read every self-help book, and failed at every ambitious goal I set. I'd wake up determined to meditate for 30 minutes, go to the gym for an hour, and journal for 20 minutes — only to do none of it by lunchtime.

The turning point came when I read about BJ Fogg's Tiny Habits method. Instead of trying to do everything, I committed to just three deep breaths after my morning coffee. That's it. No timer. No app. Just three breaths.

It worked. And it kept working. Six months later, those three breaths had naturally expanded into a 10-minute meditation practice. I wasn't forcing it — it just happened because the foundation was so solid.

That's when I realized: the problem wasn't my willpower. It was my approach. I built MicroHabits to help others skip the years of frustration I went through.

The Simple Truth About Change

You Don't Need More Willpower

You need better systems. Willpower is a finite resource that runs out. But a well-designed habit — one that's ridiculously easy and tied to an existing routine — requires almost zero willpower.

Start So Small It Feels Silly

Three deep breaths. One sentence in a journal. Making your bed. These feel too small to matter, but that's exactly why they work. They're impossible to fail at, which means you build the identity of someone who keeps their promises to themselves.

Let It Grow Naturally

Once a tiny habit becomes automatic, it naturally wants to expand. You don't force it — it just happens. That's when real transformation begins.

Your Future Self Will Thank You
